I am reuniting with Alex in London in 8 days, 15 hours, and 23 minutes (not that I’m counting or anything) after 326 days of being apart (not that I’m counting or anything).
I. CAN’T. CONTAIN. MYSELF.
This guy. Oh my heart. I’m having a case of an insane amount of butterflies right now and I love it.

A friend of mine showed me a Facebook group titled “Jesus, Please Save America” which is where I found this photo. After my initial shock, I then moved to a state of sorrow about how wide spread this belief is. I first want to address the caption and then the comments.

So I'm sitting at Starbucks completing homework and the guy next to me sneezes.
Me: "God bless you."
Guy: .....
Twenty minutes later, he sneezes twice...
Me: (a little loud, giving him the benefit of the doubt) "GOD BLESS YOU."
Guy: .......
What the heck...I KNOW HE CAN HEAR ME.

Martin Luther King Jr. reflected in a sermon, “Every now and then I think about my own death, and I think about my own funeral. Every now and then I ask myself, ‘What is it that I want said?’ I’d like somebody to mention that day, that Martin Luther King Jr. tried to give his life serving others. I’d like for somebody to say that day, that Martin Luther King Jr. tried to love somebody. I want you...

“I believe we have seriously misread the relevant passages in the New Testament, no doubt not least through a long process of assumption, tradition, and all kinds of post-biblical and sub-biblical attitudes that have crept in to Christianity. Just as I think we need radically to change our traditional pictures of the afterlife, away from the mediaeval models and back to the biblical ones, so...

“It helps, now and then, to step back and take the long view. The Kingdom is not only beyond our efforts: it is beyond our vision. We accomplish in our lifetime only a tiny fraction of the magnificent enterprise that is the Lord’s work. Nothing we do is complete, which is another way of saying that the Kingdom always lies beyond us. No sermon says all that should be said. No prayer fully expresses...

But what is it that I love in loving thee? Not physical beauty, nor the splendor of time, nor the radiance of the light—so pleasant to our eyes—nor the sweet melodies of the various kinds of songs, nor the fragrant smell of flowers and ointments and spices; not manna and honey, not the limbs embraced in physical love—it is not these I love when I love my God. Yet it is true that...

“We do not want merely to see beauty….We want something else which we can hardly put into words—to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become a part of it.”
